Although most of us don’t like to admit it, we do live sedentary lifestyles. Our jobs, our eating habits and our daily routines all pave the way to an unhealthy and dangerous life. Being obese does not change who you are as a person, nor does it define beauty but it can surely impact your life if you allow it to. Not only will you be more likely to start building diseases but because of the weight on your legs you can suffer from joint issues, vein issues and a lot of other problems because of the stress on your body.
The best way to prevent any problems is to tackle obesity
It is a difficult task to keep up with dieting and working out each day. Unfortunately, there is no easy way out. Life provides you with no short cuts and the only way that you will achieve permanent results is if you make small but permanent changes to your daily life. If you do decide to try shortcuts, pills and most of these other products that claim to make you drop weight quickly, the chances of it coming back once you stop are very high. When you exercise, make changes and try and stick to them, the sense of achievement that you feel cannot be replaced. You can be proud of yourself for staying strong on your journey.
Here are a few changes you can make in your life that should be made permanent:
We have all heard this before. Take the stairs-yes its true. Even if you think that those 5 minutes won’t make a difference it definitely will. Once your body starts getting used to that little bit of exercise, walking up stairs instead of taking the elevator or escalator will become a habit.
Cutting out sweets and fatty foods- Oh yes, this is one of the hardest things to do especially for foodies, but there is no other way to lose weight. Although it’s tough, once you reach your goal you can eventually start eating a little as a reward while you continue to exercise. There are a lot of foods that actually make you bloat such as rice and other things. Once you cut these out of your diet, you automatically shed a few pounds.
Smaller portions- you want to eat good food? Go ahead, the best trick however is to get a smaller plate so that you eat less. You have to cut down on your portions.
Do not do any other activity while eating-when it’s time to eat make sure that you are watching your food and how you eat. When you watch television or multitask you tend to swallow your food and wonder where it went. The more you look at how much you’re eating, the guiltier you feel. It’s not rocket science.
Drink a lot of water- there’s nothing else to add. Water can keep you full and most of the time we confuse thirst with hunger. It can also speed up your body’s metabolism.
Incorporate some sort of exercise-This is the most important thing is to add some sort of exercise to your daily routine. Even if it’s just a ten minute walk, or walking around when there an advertisement while you’re watching your favorite show. You have to start somewhere and once you do you will automatically want to increase it for more results.
Although it’s not going to be easy, you have to start. If you don’t, you will just keep putting on weight. It’s better to start soon and it’s okay if you fail at times. Its natural, not everyone succeeds their first time. The goal is to keep trying even after you have failed. And that is the way to success.
